Jordan’s largest vertically integrated grower, packer and exporter of Medjool dates, Medjool Village has extended its list of certifications to BRCGS Global Food Safety Standard.

This new achievement comes on top of their ISO 9001 and FSSC 22000 certifications, demonstrating once again Medjool Village’s commitment to quality and food safety. SGS has been the chosen certification partner for these various tasks.

Why international standards?

Medjool Village was founded in 2012 with a vision of leading, developing, and promoting the date palm sector in Jordan. With more than 20 years’ experience in Medjool cultivation along with its commitment to excellence, Medjool Village has established itself as the preferred supplier of Medjool dates in Jordan.

By putting in place international standards, the company has been enhancing the organization’s processes and building trust with customers and stakeholders through demonstrating solid commitment to quality.

In that respect, certification by a worldwide known certification body such as SGS is needed to serve as a form of validation that the company’s processes and procedures meet the highest international standards.

Additionally, certification is needed to comply with requirements of certain Medjool Village’s international clients, contracts or partnerships.

Implementation: way to success

According to Medjool Village, the major difficulty is to ensure full understanding and commitment by all employees across all functions to implement new requirements.

In Medjool Village, this is achieved through regular sessions as well as hands on work and engagement across all teams. Moreover, this is not a one-time initiative but an ongoing process critical for success.
